Used Equipment Drive

Clean out that garage!!!  The Renegades will be having a Used Equipment Drive

The Renegades will be holding a used hockey equipment drive Saturday, June 8th, from 9am – 12pm at West Meadows Ice Arena. The equipment will be used to help new players who are trying the sport for the first time. We ask that if you have equipment you would like to donate to the program please make sure it is clean, not damaged and a match (e.g. A matching pair of gloves, or shin pads).  If you miss the date, just stop by the rink anytime to drop your used equipment off.

Coaches wanted
The Renegades are currently looking for voluteer coaches to help with teams as the program expands. With the increased number of teams expected for Spring 2013 and Fall 2013 we need more coaches. High level hockey experience is not necessary, just the ability to skate and willingness to work with the kids. Teams from our Mite ADM program through Bantams will be looking for head coaches and assitants.

Spring 2013 teams will have1-2 practices per week depending on skills sessions and 1-2 games per weekend. Usually coaches can be paired up so the committment can be lessened and not take away from work and family time.

If you are interested in coaching (head coach, co-coach or assitant coach) please contact Tony Koloszy at tkolozsy@rmparks.org

All coaches must complete USA Hockey certification and background checks.

If you love the game and are willing to help out, we would love to add you to our program!

ADM and Cross Ice are King!
The Renegades have followed the USA Hockey ADM program for over 9 years. As Cross ice hockey, stations and small area skills practices spread across the country, full ice instruction and games at the 8 and under age level (and now instruction at Squirts and Peewees) is being a thing of the past.  We get back to the basics of hockey......simply enjoying the game.  Don't believe us? Check out some of the videos and articles that show the mass amounts of organizations moving in this direction. Incliding new Mite rules in Illinois, Michigan, Minnesota, Colorado, New York and more.
It's new school, not old school that is catching on!

Check out our new additions: Mite ADM page- including the new Mite rules for each state, including Illinois.
Learning Off-sides and Icing page - containing videos and other information to learn these rules without having to be on the ice

Why we do it this way

Ever wonder why we run things the way we do?  Listen to the Don Lucia speech from the Minnesota coaches symposium. Don is the University of Minnesota Div 1 head coach.  Pretty interesting comments coming from a Division 1 College coach.
